Itinerary of Kashmir Trip

Day-1: Arrival in Srinagar

When you arrive at Srinagar airport, our representative will warmly greet you and assist you in transferring to your houseboat. Check into the Super Deluxe houseboat, freshen up, and enjoy the royal hospitality. In the evening, take a Shikara ride on Dal Lake and marvel at nature's wonders that defy visual and verbal descriptions. The Shikara's sunset view will engulf your heart and leave you spellbound. After that, enjoy a welcome dinner and an overnight stay on the Houseboat.

Day-2: Srinagar-Gulmarg-Srinagar

Early in the morning Check out of the houseboat and drive to Gulmarg, passing willow trees, fast-flowing streams, lush green meadows, apple Orchards, strawberry fields and cherry orchards on the way. Gulmarg is an apt name for this idyllic flower-laden meadow that offers a spectacular view of towering snow-capped peaks covered in dense forests of tall conifers and massive fir and pine trees. Stroll leisurely or pay for pony rides across the green meadow to one of the world's highest golf courses. A thrilling ride in the Gondola lift is a must (by your own payment). Return to Srinagar in the evening and spend the night at the Hotel.

Day-3: Srinagar-Pahalgam-Srinagar

Leave early in the morning for Pahalgam, the "Valley of Shepherds," which is located at the confluence of streams flowing from the Lidder River and Sheeshnag Lake. Visit the Awantipora ruins on the way, an 1100-year-old temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and built by King Awantivarman. When you arrive in Pahalgam, take in the surrounding beauty or walk to Baisaren, which is about 2 kilometres away. A small village set in a pine and fir forest is attractive and provides a good view. In the evening, we return to Srinagar for a night's stay at a hotel.

Day-4: Srinagar-Sonmarg-Srinagar

Today you go on a full-day excursion to Sonmarg, the picturesque "golden meadow." In the summer, the fast-flowing Sindh River is popular for trout and mahseer fishing. You can take a pony ride to one of the glaciers for some snow and ice fun. Return to the hotel in Srinagar in the evening for a relaxing overnight stay.

Note: The vehicle will drop you off and pick you up at the Sonmarg car park. To get to the glaciers, you can hire ponies on your own terms.

Day-5: Return home with happy memories

We transfer you to Srinagar Airport to board your flight with a memorable trip with Walkingthehimalayas.

What is the best time to visit Kashmir?

Summers in Kashmir

Summers in Kashmir are just as picturesque as winters. Especially if you want to escape the heat. Despite the fact that it is still quite hot in Srinagar. The Weather is generally better in Gulmarg and Sonmarg in Jammu and Kashmir.

It is also an excellent time to travel long distances and visit many places in Kashmir. Tourist activities are at their peak due to the large number of tourists who visit here. Several places that are closed during the winter are only open during the summer after the snow melts.

During this time, most treks to deep mountain lakes take place. You can also plan all of your adventure activities at that time.

Winters In Kashmir

If you enjoy winters and snow, I strongly advise you to visit Kashmir at least once during the winter season. Gulmarg in particular. However, it is not without limitations.

On one side, it is extremely cold, with the temperature dropping to several degrees below zero. However, your travel and movement are severely limited because most roads are snow-covered and only small vehicles are permitted to pass.

Spring and Autumn in Kashmir

These are probably the best months to travel. Spring, also known as the ‘shoulder' season, is when the snow has not yet melted in many parts of Kashmir. As late as April, you can catch snow and frozen glaciers near Gulmarg and Sonmarg. Furthermore, the steep prices have come down, and there is still room for movement.

Autumn is also a wonderful season. It is when the saffron flowers bloom in the valley, that you can find these rare views with a little effort. The nights are cool, but the days are warm. After a busy summer, tourist activity also decreases, allowing you to get great deals on hotels and flights.
