Day 1: Arrival in Kathgodam
- Arrive in Kathgodam by train or bus from Delhi or other major cities.
- Meet the trek representative and transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive from Kathgodam to Kharkiya
- Have an early breakfast and drive to Kharkiya, the starting point of the trek.
- The drive takes around 10 hours and passes through scenic villages and towns.
- Overnight stay in a guesthouse or tented accommodation.

Day 3: Trek from Kharkiya to Baling Village (7 km)
- After breakfast, start the trek from Kharkiya to Baling Village.
- The trek takes around 5-6 hours and passes through dense forests and scenic meadows.
- Overnight stay in a guesthouse or tented accommodation.

Day 4: Trek from Baling Village to Khati Village (6 km)
- After breakfast, trek from Baling Village to Khati Village.
- The trek takes around 4-5 hours and passes through scenic forests and rivers.
- Overnight stay in a guesthouse or tented accommodation.

Day 5: Trek from Khati Village to Dwali Village (11 km)
- After breakfast, trek from Khati Village to Dwali Village.
- The trek takes around 5-6 hours and passes through scenic meadows and streams.

Day 6: Trek from Dwali Village to Pukhriyana (9 km)
- After breakfast, start the trek from Dwali Village to Pukhriyana.

Day 7: Trek from Pukhriyana to Chipla Kedar Base Camp (7 km)
- After breakfast, trek from Pukhriyana to Chipla Kedar Base Camp.
- The trek takes around 6-7 hours and involves a steep ascent.
- Overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 8: Trek to Chipla Kedar Peak (3 km) and back to Base Camp
- Early morning, trek to Chipla Kedar Peak and witness the stunning sunrise and views of the Himalayan peaks.
- Trek back to Chipla Kedar Base Camp and spend the day relaxing and exploring the surroundings.
- Overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 9: Trek back to Pukhriyana (7 km)
- After breakfast, trek back to Pukhriyana.
- The trek takes around 4-5 hours and offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks.
- Overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 10: Trek back to Dwali Village (9 km)
- After breakfast, trek back to Dwali Village.
- The trek takes around 5-6 hours and passes through scenic meadows and streams.
- Overnight stay in a guesthouse or tented accommodation.

Day 11: Trek back to Kharkiya (17 km) and drive to Kathgodam
- After breakfast, trek back to Kharkiya.
- The trek takes around 8-9 hours and passes through scenic meadows, forests, and rivers.
- Drive back to Kathgodam and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 12: Departure
- After breakfast, depart from Kathgodam and continue your onward journey.

How to reach Chipla Kedar?

Chipla Kedar trek starts from Kharkiya village which is located in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Here's how to reach Kharkiya village:

By Air: 
The nearest airport to Kharkiya is Pantnagar Airport, which is around 200 km away. From there, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Kharkiya.

By Train: 
The nearest railway station is Kathgodam Railway Station, which is around 180 km away. From there, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Kharkiya.

By Road: 
Kharkiya is well-connected by road. You can take a taxi or bus from Kathgodam or other nearby towns like Almora or Pithoragarh. The distance from Kathgodam to Kharkiya is around 220 km.

Once you reach Kharkiya, the trek to Chipla Kedar starts. You can hire a local guide or join a trekking group for a more organized experience.

  • Transport to and from Kathgodam– Walking The Himalayas will arrange shared taxis for trekkers. These shared taxis will pick you up from Kathgodam Railway Station or Pant Nagar Airport. Taxi from Kathgodam to Kharkiya will cost around Rs. 8000 - 9000 per taxi and Rs. 14000 - 16000 per tempo one way.

  • Food during transit to and from the base camp – Walking the Himalayas doesn't include meals purchased during the journey to Dharchula and back.

  • Backpack offloading charges – If you wish to offload your backpack, there will be an additional charge of Rs. 2100 - 2500. The backpack cannot weigh more than 9 - 10 kg. Walking The Himalayas does not allow Suitcases/Strollers/Duffel bags during the trek, so if you are bringing these then you have to take care on your own. These charges can vary for last-minute offloading in case you decide to offload your bag after reaching Dharchula (Rs.350 per day inclusive of taxes).

  • Personal expenses - Your trekking package doesn't include any kind of personal expenses. 

Cancellation

 

If your trek gets called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rains, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.) we will not refund your money. Instead of money, Walking The Himalayas will issue a trek voucher for the full amount. You can easily redeem that voucher for the same amount for any of the treks available at the same price.

Cancellation charges are based on the total trek fee, irrespective of the amount paid either full or partial.

The cancellation policy of Walking The Himalayas is based on the original booking time and the original start date of the trek.

  • If you cancel a trek before 30 days of trek start date and get a full refund after deduction of 1.99% payment processing fee.

  • If you cancel a trek before 15 days of the trek start date and get a refund after a deduction of 20% of the total trek fee.

  • If you cancel a trek before 10 days of the trek start date and get a refund after a deduction of 40% of the total trek fee.

  • If you cancel a trek before 5 days of the trek start date and get a refund after a deduction of 60% of the total trek fee.

  • The Trek fee is non-refundable if you cancel within 4 days before the trek start date.

Trek cancellation due to weather:

  • In case of an incomplete trek due to weather conditions, you can opt for the same trek again throughout your lifetime on all our fixed departures for the same trek.

  • This attempt only covers the trek fee and will not include any rentals or the transportation amount paid earlier.

  • This is non-transferable.
