This hilly state of Jammu and Kashmir offers some of the most amazing and beautiful view of nature. There are many attractive valleys in Jammu and Kashmir, and I'm going to tell you about a valley and it's story of naming which is related to a Bollywood film.






Betab Valley of Kashmir


A Bollywood romantic film was released in 1983, in which Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh were seen together. That film was shot in this valley. The valley was named as Betab Valley after the film itself.


Surrounded by soft grasslands and beautiful hills, this valley is located 15 km from Pahalgam in Anantnag district of the state.



This valley falls between Pahalgam and Chandanwadi, from which a route also leads to the Amarnath Temple. It is a beautiful and very attractive valley, surrounded by lush green meadows and snowy peaks. You can see magnificent flora all around here.


The Betab Valley is located between the two mountain ranges of the Himalayas, Pir Panjal and Zanskar. According to the archaeological survey, humans started living in this mountainous area from Neolithic Period.


Being a part of Kashmir, the Mughals have also ruled here. The beauty of this valley has been the attraction of tourism since the beginning. It attracts tourists from all over the year.

What is best time to visit Betab Valley?

Betab Valley is a beautiful valley of Jammu and Kashmir, where the weather remains enchanting and pleasant throughout the year. During summer it becomes an ideal summer destination.




If you do not like winter, then you can come here any time except the month of December to February.

After enjoying the beautiful and breathtaking views of the Betab Valley, you can enjoy a trip to the surrounding tourist attractions.





Lidder River, Pahalgam, Aru Wildlife Sanctuary, Tullian Lake, Lidder Park etc. are some of the well-known attractions here.

How to visit Betab Valley?

The Betab Valley is located 15 km from Pahalgam in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. You can reach here with the help of all three modes of transport.


Air:- The nearest airport here is Srinagar Airport.


Rail:- For the rail route you can come to Srinagar railway station.


Road:- If you want, you can also reach here via roadways or taxi.
