What is the route of Mount Trishul?

Mount Trishul is a group of three Himalayan mountain peaks located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India. The highest peak in the group, Trishul I, stands at 7,120 meters (23,359 feet) and is a popular climbing destination for experienced mountaineers.

There are several routes to climb Mount Trishul, but the most commonly used route is the west ridge, also known as the Trishul Col. This route was first climbed by a German expedition led by Willy Merkl in 1937.

The west ridge route starts from the village of Ghat in the Pindar Valley and follows a trail to the base camp at Bhagwabasa. From there, climbers make their way to Camp 1 at 5,600 meters (18,373 feet) on a steep snow and ice slope. Camp 2 is located at 6,100 meters (20,013 feet) on a rocky ridge, and Camp 3 is at 6,400 meters (21,000 feet) on the west ridge.

The final push to the summit of Trishul I is made from Camp 3, following the west ridge to the top. The route involves a combination of technical climbing on steep snow and ice slopes, as well as some rock climbing.

Other routes to climb Mount Trishul include the east ridge and the northeast ridge, but these routes are less frequently used and are considered more difficult than the west ridge route.

Where is Trishul Mountain located?

Trishul Mountain is located in the Kumaon region of the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
