Brief Description

You must have seen the idol of Lord Shankar and his pictures many times and his weapon Trishul in the hands. A snow peak located in the mountain range of the Himalayas is named after the same Trishul.

Would you think that it looks like a peak Trishul? But Trishul Peak does not look like Trishul of God, but it has three peaks like Trishul. These are called Trishul I, Trishul II and Trishul III. The highest peak is Trishul I. Its height is 7,120 meters above sea level. The second and third peaks are 6,690 meters and 6,007 meters high respectively.

One more thing, these three peaks are connected through a ridge. Trishul Peak is located in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. Bageshwar is in the western part of Kumaon.

This iceberg is considered sacred there. It is known that when the efforts to climb this peak started at the beginning, the porter there refused to climb the Trishul because, in his eyes, the trident is a sacred and revered mountain.

The first successful attempt to reach Trishul Peak was in 1907, after several attempts. T. G. Longstaff then managed to touch the summit with two other British mountaineers and some guides and porter.

A special thing is that the Trishul was the highest peak among the Himalayan icebergs, on which humans had conquered, that is, by that time no human could touch a peak higher than the Trishul.

For climbing Mount Trishul one has to go to base camp in Kumaon via Almora, Kausani, Gwaladam, Debal, Bedini Bugyal and Roopkund.
